About Us
Founded in 1975, Leichhardt Lions FC is located on Johnson Road, White Rock, east of the Mt Sheridan Shopping Centre. We proudly field seven senior teams in the local football competition, including Premier Men’s, Premier Ladies, Men’s U23, Ladies U23, U18's, U16's, and both 1st and 2nd Division teams.
As a non-profit organisation run by dedicated volunteers and supporters, we've grown from humble beginnings to a club with a rich history, and numerous Premiership, Grand Finals, Northern League and NQ Crad Evans Championships.
Today, Leichhardt Lions FC is more than a football club; it's a family that welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. Be a part of the Leichhardt Lions FC community, as we continue to create a roaring legacy on and off the field.

Our Mission
With the support of our committee, coaches, members and sponsors, our mission is to continue to build a welcoming and fun community, while promoting football in Far North Queensland. We aim to forge pathways that enhance the skills, fitness, respect, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership abilities of our young players as they transition into adulthood.

Did You Know
Our clubs’ original name was “Azzurri Leichhardt," named after our local electorate of Leichhardt. However, a name change was forced by FFA to move away from ethnicity to a more inclusive football community. After undergoing several minor variations, Leichhardt Soccer Club eventually became the Leichhardt Football Club Cairns Inc.
The original club logo was shield shaped and portrayed a prancing lion that symbolises power and prestige. The logo can still be seen today as part of our junior clubs’ branding. Our current round logo was introduced in the early 90’s and depicts a more abstract lions head encircled in our clubs’ name.
