Phil Fernandez

Phil returns to Leichhardt after leading our U23 women to back-to-back premierships in 2019 and 2020. Over the last three years, he has been developing his own coaching style and mentoring young players from FNQ in the FQ Academy.

Phil has overseen numerous players, guiding them into QLD State selection, and he understands both the local football community and the elite-level requirements for footballers. He has since gained his AFC “B” licence and is enrolled for his “A” licence in his pursuit of coaching excellence.

Phil has played in South America and Sydney for several important clubs, giving him a unique awareness of the conditions needed to develop players' abilities. He is now ready to help advance the women's game at our club through his vision of unity, pride, and commitment.
